About this competition
The AIDA Freediverse Competition (AFC) is the official pool freediving competition in Surabaya, created through a collaboration between AIDA International, the global freediving organization that sets competition standards, and Freediverse, a growing freediving community based in Surabaya.
This partnership brings international-level competition rules and professionalism to a local stage, while also highlighting the passion and warmth of the Indonesian freediving community.
AFC will feature four pool disciplines — Static Apnea (STA), Dynamic with Fins (DYN), Dynamic with Bi-fins (DYNB), and Dynamic No Fins (DNF). With only 30 athletes competing, the event offers both newcomers and experienced freedivers the chance to perform under official AIDA rules, achieve personal bests, and even set national records.
